Guardiani de la lenga

(Guardians of the Language)

Every village of our valleys keeps words that no dictionary has yet collected. Noneso, solander, rabies, pegaes: four varieties of Anaunian Ladin that live in the voice of those who speak them. It is not a mere dialect, but a language: help us safeguard them before they are lost. Propose a term, a curator validates it, and it becomes everyone's heritage.

How it works

1 Propose A word, a phrase or a proverb, with the village and the variety.
2 The Commission validates El Brenz's Language Commission (spokesperson Cristian Bresadola) or the Union Ladin Nonesa validates every contribution.
3 It enters the glossary It becomes part of the living heritage of the valleys, with your name if you wish.

Who safeguards with us

The contributions proposed by the community are validated, before publication, by one of the two reference language authorities: the Language Commission of the El Brenz Association or the Union Ladin Nonesa. Validation by either of the two is enough. Only validated entries become public, kept together with the keepers of memory: the people and families who keep the nosa lenga (our language) alive.
